The wedding of Holly Ramsay and Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty has been overshadowed by a bitter family feud, with the groom's mother, Caroline Peaty, reportedly uninvited from the ceremony and hen party.
Caroline Peaty has claimed her son is “in Gordon Ramsay’s clutches”, while the TV chef hit back, describing the situation as “self-inflicted” from the Peaty side. In an interview, Ramsay said he and his wife Tana had “done nothing” wrong and had welcomed the Peaty family, even sending a chauffeur-driven car for the engagement party.
The rift escalated after the couple’s engagement bash, which the wider Peaty family was not invited to. Caroline was also excluded from the hen do at Soho Farmhouse, where Holly’s mother Tana and close family friend Victoria Beckham attended. A source suggested Caroline might have “stuck out” among the glamorous guests.
Ramsay expressed a desire to reconcile, saying he would like to visit Nottingham with Tana to “draw a line in the sand”. However, he stressed that the decision not to invite the Peaty family was “Adam and Holly’s wishes” and that “there’s stuff they need to sort out as parents”.
Adam Peaty has addressed the situation on social media, stating there are “always two sides to every story” and that he is continuing to learn how to be “a worthy partner, father, businessman, friend and athlete”. The wedding took place on December 27 at Bath Abbey.
