Gordon Ramsay's 'Dad' Comment to Adam Peaty Sparks Family Feud Backlash
Ramsay's 'Dad' Comment to Peaty Fuels Family Feud Row

The lavish wedding of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's daughter, Holly, to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty has been overshadowed by a bitter family dispute, with fans now accusing Ramsay of deliberately deepening the rift.

Fans Claim 'Dad' Comment Aims to Hurt

The controversy flared again after Ramsay left a comment on a social media post shared by Adam Peaty, which featured snaps from the couple's pre-wedding celebrations. The chef wrote: 'Beautiful ❤️ love you both Dad @hollyramsaypeaty @adamramsaypeaty.'

While seemingly a warm message, many followers were quick to interpret Ramsay's use of the word 'Dad'—directed at both newlyweds—as a pointed dig at Adam's own parents, who were notably absent from the ceremony.

One critic responded online: 'You can't help yourself, can you? You have to keep making it upsetting for Adam's parents. You made the wedding day a circus... shame on you.' Another pleaded with Ramsay to consider how he would feel if his own son excluded him from a wedding.

Wedding Speech Adds Fuel to the Fire

The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey on December 27, with Gordon Ramsay walking his daughter down the aisle. However, the day was marred by an ugly family dispute that led to Adam Peaty's mother, Caroline, being barred from attending.

Reports indicate that during his father-of-the-bride speech, Ramsay told his daughter Holly, 'Shame you don't have the same,' in an apparent reference to Adam's absent family. A source told the Daily Mail that Caroline was left 'outraged' and 'hurt', believing the swipe was pre-planned and 'cruel'.

In contrast, Ramsay defended his speech during an appearance on This Morning last week, insisting it was 'perfect and warm'. His daughter Tilly confirmed she had heard it beforehand and said it 'made everybody cry'. Bride Holly also defended her father, telling British Vogue she felt 'overwhelmed with happiness' during the address.

A Family Rift Laid Bare

The roots of the conflict reportedly stretch back to September 2024, when Adam and Holly did not invite wider Peaty family members to their engagement party. Caroline was also not invited to Holly's hen do at Soho Farmhouse, an event attended by Victoria Beckham and Tana Ramsay.

On the wedding day, Adam's sister Bethany was the only loved one from his side in attendance. Sitting at home in Staffordshire, his mother Caroline told The Mail on Sunday, 'I'm not going to be hurt like this again,' having previously said she felt the couple had 'cut my heart out'.

In another perceived slight, Holly revealed that her luxurious honeymoon to Mauritius was a gift from her parents, Gordon and Tana. Adam is said to have praised his swim coach, Mel Marshall, in his speech, rather than mentioning his family.

The deep division was further highlighted when, moments before entering the abbey, Adam received a devastating text message from an uninvited aunt, which read in part: 'Shame on you both... Remember... that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams.'
