Three of Britain's most influential culinary figures - Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal - have reunited for a new three-part BBC series, The Rise of the Rockstar Chef. The show charts how they reshaped the restaurant industry in the 1990s and beyond.
Reunion after over a decade
The Michelin-starred trio helped transform modern British cuisine and placed it firmly on the global stage. In the series, they are seen together for the first time in over a decade, discussing their defining moments, including recipes, fall-outs and feuds.
Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning for Factual Entertainment and Events, said: "Decades ago, Marco, Gordon and Heston ripped up the rule-book of British fine dining and changed the world of restaurants forever. I'm delighted they're reuniting to bring BBC audiences the truly extraordinary story behind their fierce rivalry, uncompromising ambition and, at times, truly outrageous antics."
Key figures in modern British cuisine
Ramsay trained under legendary chefs like Marco Pierre White and Albert Roux. His flagship establishment, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, has held three Michelin stars since 2001. He went on to become one of the world's biggest TV personalities.
Heston Blumenthal became renowned for his pioneering work in molecular gastronomy and multi-sensory cooking. His restaurant, the Fat Duck, has been a legendary hotspot for 30 years.
The series also features renowned food critics, maîtres d' and former commis chefs.
Rivalry and perfection
Lisa Edwards, Chief Creative Officer and Executive Producer at Studio Ramsay Global, said: "It was the decade that really put British food on the map led by the original Rock Star Chefs, Marco, Gordon & Heston. It's the story of rivalry and the pursuit of perfection where the real heat was not just in the kitchen!"
The Rise of the Rockstar Chef will air on BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
