Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas gives update on pigeon he believes is his late father

Ryan Thomas, known for his role in Coronation Street, has shared a fresh update on the pigeon he believes is the reincarnation of his late father. The 41-year-old actor, who named the bird Dougie James after his dad, posted a video on Instagram showing the pigeon perched on a TV aerial after a brief disappearance.

In the clip, Thomas expressed relief at the bird's return, saying, 'You've no idea how happy this makes me. Go on Dougie!' Earlier, he had filmed himself looking solemn, worried that the pigeon had left for good. 'Every morning Dougie was in the garden. Every evening, Dougie was in the garden. I've come down this morning and Dougie's not there,' he said.

Thomas lost his father in 2020 and became convinced the pigeon was his dad after it repeatedly visited his home. He contacted psychic Sally Morgan, who confirmed the possibility. The actor has also joked that the bird's markings resemble his father's moustache.

In a subsequent video, Thomas asked his followers whether he had 'lost the plot', after a friend expressed concern. Laughing, he said, 'I'm sitting in my back garden, looking at a pigeon, which could possibly be my dad.' His posts have sparked a mix of amusement and intrigue among fans.
