Robert Kardashian Sr., best known as part of O.J. Simpson's defence team and patriarch of the Kardashian family, reportedly came close to marrying Priscilla Presley in the 1970s. According to a new book, the romance ended due to a major dealbreaker.
The book The Kardashians: An American Drama by Jerry Oppenheimer claims that Kardashian was introduced to Priscilla around 1975 by his older brother Tom, who was also interested in her. This caused friction between the siblings before Priscilla chose Robert.
Friends revealed that Robert wanted to marry Priscilla and have children with her. However, the relationship soured as both sides felt controlled by the other. Priscilla was unwilling to become a 'domesticated American housewife' and refused to marry while Elvis Presley was still alive.
The final dealbreaker came after a disastrous home-cooked meal. Priscilla went to great effort to prepare a perfect dinner, but Robert hated it. According to the book, after that meal, he never asked her to cook for him again.
Robert later married Kris Jenner in 1978, and they had four children: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Robert Jr. The couple divorced in 1991 but remained cordial until Robert's death in 2003.
