Princess Eugenie, 36, faced online criticism after sharing a Father's Day post on Instagram on Sunday, with some royal fans comparing her to Meghan Markle for not showing her children's faces. The princess posted two photographs, including one of her husband, Jack Brooksbank, with their two sons, August and Ernest, taken from behind as they walked down a scenic street. The faces of her husband and sons were not visible in the image.
Criticism and Comparisons to Meghan Markle
Several commenters criticized Eugenie for hiding her children's faces. One person wrote: "Not her taking a page out of Meghan's book and hiding the faces (laughing emojis)." Another queried: "Why would you post backs of your family?" A third commented: "Ridiculous how they don't show their children's faces. Of all the Royal Households in Europe, it is only the Sussex Duo and the York sisters who do this."
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have long kept the faces of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, hidden when posting on social media, a practice that has drawn both support and criticism.
Defenders of Eugenie's Decision
However, many defended Eugenie's choice. One person commented: "Glad you are protecting your children's identity." Another said: "She probably wants to share moments of her kids without putting their faces online." A third wrote: "This is the right way to do it. They are not our children."
Eugenie has not responded to any of the comments on her post.
