Princess Andre, now 18 and starring in her own ITV show The Princess Diaries, has spoken candidly about the difficulties of growing up in the spotlight and witnessing her parents' turbulent divorce. In her new documentary, she admits she experienced things 'kids shouldn't see' during her childhood, caught between her mother Katie Price and father Peter Andre.
The reality star revealed she has attended therapy to cope with the pressures, but struggles to open up verbally. 'I did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then. But I don't feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes,' she said in an episode.
Princess reflected that she wishes her childhood could have been 'happier', adding: 'I had so many things on my plate at a young age.' The comments come as her parents' long-running feud reignited after the show aired, with Katie criticising the production and Peter hitting back in a scathing Instagram post.
Peter accused Katie of making 'repeated lies' over 16 years, and revealed that a family court had granted him custody of Princess and her brother Junior in 2019 for their safety. Katie's spokesperson responded that she 'will no longer be gaslighted and bullied'.
Princess's mother previously claimed that her daughter's therapy was not related to her own relationship with Kieran Hayler, but rather to a 'hijacking thing' and the aftermath of her split from Peter.
