Prince William reveals surprising film pastime on Graham Norton

Prince William has given a rare insight into his private life, revealing how he switches off after a demanding day of royal duties. During a surprise appearance on a special episode of The Graham Norton Show, the Prince of Wales admitted to a surprisingly "dark and deep" pastime: immersing himself in psychological films and action blockbusters.

Asked how he manages to unwind from the pressures of royal life, William said: "It is music and film. I love getting immersed in deep-thinking films."

A Favourite Director

The future King singled out legendary director Christopher Nolan as a firm favourite, praising his unique vision. "I like action films too, but I like something a bit different. I'm a big fan of everything Christopher Nolan does. His films are fantastic – The Dark Knight series is psychologically dark and deep, and I absolutely love that," he said.

William added: "He takes concepts that are completely out there and makes them incredibly entertaining."

Family Viewing Habits

It seems the royal's viewing habits aren't exclusively intense. The devoted father of three revealed that the Wales household is currently gripped by the BBC's reality series, The Celebrity Traitors. William confessed that his family—particularly Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis—are completely "obsessed" with the show.

The Prince even admitted to pranking former EastEnders star Ross Kemp in real life. "I saw Ross Kemp the day after the first episode and I couldn't help but try – in the most appropriate way – to touch him to see what reaction I got from him. Turns out he was really jumpy!"

Upcoming Earthshot Prize

William was joined on the show by Hollywood actress Cate Blanchett, wildlife champion Robert Irwin, and actress Hannah Waddingham. Next month, the Prince of Wales will travel to Mumbai to stage the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony, where he will meet Bollywood royalty, learn about India's film industry, and hand out £5 million in prize money to eco-innovators.

The Earthshot Prize edition of The Graham Norton Show will air on Saturday evening at 10.40pm on BBC One.
