Prince William has made a surprise appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by Travis Kelce and his brother Jason, as speculation mounts that Kelce is set to marry Taylor Swift on Friday, July 3, at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Wedding Rumors and Engagement Details
Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and pop icon Taylor Swift are widely reported to tie the knot on July 3, having booked out Madison Square Garden for a star-studded ceremony. The couple announced their engagement in August last year via Swift's Instagram, showing Kelce proposing in a flower-filled garden. Swift captioned the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
The couple have been together since 2023, with Swift previously in high-profile relationships with Harry Styles, Tom Hiddleston, and Calvin Harris. Swift frequently attends Kelce's football matches, while Kelce has joined her on stage, including at Wembley Stadium in 2024.
Prince William's Podcast Appearance
With hours to go before the reported wedding, Prince William appeared on the New Heights podcast. In a teaser clip, Jason Kelce introduced him with an elaborate list of titles, including “the president of the English Football Association, the vice-royal patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of Cornwall, the Lord of the Isles, Prince and Great Steward of Scotland, Earl of Chester and the Prince of Wales.”
William laughed and replied: “That was quite an intro guys, amazing.” Travis Kelce noted they “had to do it big for you.” The pre-recorded episode is set for release later.
William's Connection to the Couple
Prince William has a connection to the couple. In May, when asked on Heart Radio's breakfast show if he would attend the wedding, he said: “That feels like a showbiz excuse but it’s not. I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see.”
Last year, William took his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte to Swift's Eras Tour concert in London, where they met the singer backstage. In 2013, William joined Swift and Jon Bon Jovi on stage for a rendition of “Livin’ On A Prayer” at a charity event for Centrepoint at Kensington Palace.
