Prince Harry has reportedly voiced a warning to his wife Meghan Markle that they must 'swallow their pride' if they want King Charles to invite them back into the royal fold.
Harry was joined in the UK by Meghan and their two children earlier this month, with a visit to King Charles and Queen Camilla having taken place at Highgrove House on July 10. Although Harry's previous request for UK security was denied, it was later reported that Meghan would join her husband with their children — seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet — despite the denial.
Meghan and their children travelled to the UK on July 9, whilst Harry had already begun his UK visit days earlier. The visit was held in private, with no pictures released. The only information that has been reported is that the meeting lasted around an hour, with the King having been reunited with his two youngest grandchildren for the first time since 2022.
Insider reveals Harry's warning
Speaking after their meeting with the King and Queen, an insider told Closer: 'Clearly they've been pretty humbled by everything that's happened. As much as they don’t want to accept it, their only option now is to follow Charles’ rules if they want any hope of rebuilding the relationship.'
'Harry’s telling Meghan they have to take a serious step back and trying to keep the ball in their court because this opportunity may never come again, and he knows any mistake could come at a huge personal cost.'
Speaking of Harry's warning to his wife, they added that the 41-year-old told his wife that they need to 'swallow their pride'.
As well as following 'all directions from Charles and his aides and prove they can be trusted. At this point, they really have no other choice'.
Family's first UK visit since 2022
The family's visit to Britain earlier this month was Meghan's first trip here since September 2022. Archie and Lilibet have not travelled to their dad's home country since June 2022, with the visit taking place to mark the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee. The young royals were aged just three and one at the time of their last visit, with the trip taking place over Lilibet's first birthday. The past visit was also the first time that the King was able to meet his youngest granddaughter in person.
