Prince Harry has subtly countered Mike Tindall's recent joke that he is no longer 'fun' by displaying his humor during an appearance on Joe Marler's podcast. The Duke of Sussex, who visited the UK in July to mark the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, joined the Will See You Now podcast and cracked jokes about his hair and daily routine.
Harry's Podcast Appearance
During the podcast, Harry was asked who the most famous people in his phone contacts were. He replied that it was 'probably' rugby players Dylan Hartley or James Haskell. This mention of Haskell comes two months after Mike Tindall, a former England rugby player and podcast co-host, made a light-hearted swipe at Harry during the Hay Festival. Tindall, who is married to Harry's cousin Zara, joked about Haskell's conduct at Harry's 2011 royal wedding, saying: 'A lot of other people managed that way better than you - [like] Harry, when he was fun.'
Harry's Humorous Retort
Harry's jokes on the podcast proved he still has a sense of humor. He discussed his getting-ready routine, joking: 'S**t, shower, shave.' He also made light of his receding hairline, saying: 'Nothing, nothing really happening on top. I get a haircut, otherwise I try not to look at what's happening.' Additionally, he insisted he is 'not ginger,' describing his hair color as 'more sort of like, um, sunset... auburn.'
Strained Royal Relationships
Harry and his wife Meghan Markle previously shared a close relationship with Mike and Zara Tindall. However, the friendship reportedly deteriorated after the Sussexes began mingling with Hollywood's elite, according to The Mirror. Zara and Mike have avoided public comment on Harry's estrangement from the Royal Family, though their relationship with the Sussexes appears to have cooled. Princess Eugenie is understood to be the only royal cousin who has stayed close to Harry, while the Tindalls are believed to maintain warmer relations with William and Kate.
