Prince Harry denies GQ interview was a swipe at brother

Prince Harry's spokesperson has clarified that the Duke of Sussex's recent comments about reconciliation were "absolutely not intended as a swipe" at his brother or any other member of the Royal Family. The statement follows a new interview with GQ magazine, released on Tuesday, in which Harry discussed grief and family relationships.

Interview Comments on Family Rifts

In the interview, recorded in late September and shared on Tuesday, Harry was asked whether he grieves his "complicated" relationship with his father and brother. He responded: "Yeah, yes, of course, from a family perspective, again another massively relatable issue for so many people. There's sibling disagreements, there's broken relationships between, you know, kids and their parents, kids and one parent."

He added: "And some people don't want it to work out – I want it to work out."

Spokesperson's Clarification

Responding to speculation that Harry was implying his brother and father do not want things to "work out" between them, his spokesperson said: "It was absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother or any other member of his family. The comment was made in a general context and was not directed at his family in any way."

The Duke of Sussex has previously spoken about his desire to mend relations with his family, and this latest interview reiterates that wish. The spokesperson's statement aims to dispel any interpretation that the comments were aimed at specific family members.
