Prince George reportedly posed a very surprising question to the Prince and Princess of Wales, showing how grown-up the young royal was becoming. The young royal, who is celebrating his 13th birthday today, is said to have asked his parents if he could board at his former school, Lambrook School, which he attended from September 2022 until earlier this month.
William's Comment on Boarding
During a Heart Radio interview back in May, Prince William surprised fans with a passing comment that his eldest school was already boarding at his school. As well as commenting on his family's morning routine, he added: "George was boarding last night," which was previously unknown.
George's Own Decision
It was George's own idea to board at his school - and a decision that William and Catherine were in agreement with, according to the Daily Mail. Royal biographer Robert Jobson wrote: "[Catherine and William] agreed. It helped him grow, to be part of a collective."
Boarding at Lambrook
According to Lambrook School's website, the school offers full-time boarding for students between seven and 13. PEOPLE magazine also reported that 75 % of students used the opportunity to board as a way to prepare them for future education establishments such as Eton.
Looking Ahead to Eton
Speaking of George's next venture, he added: "As he steps out in his tailcoat, false collar, he will look a picture. But the environment will protect him like it did his father, who thrived there. Then time. A great deal of it, let us hope, for George's sake."
The family will be celebrating the young royal's 13th birthday in private today. The teenager will most likely be spending the day with those close to him, including his parents and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
