Amy Christophers, a former bride on Married At First Sight, was rushed to hospital on Monday after noticing reduced movement from her unborn baby. The 39-year-old, who is expecting her first child in September, shared her experience on Instagram, documenting her visit to triage and subsequent scans.
Hospital Visit and Scans
Christophers posted a clip of herself attached to hospital machines, writing: "First trip to triage. Just a precaution as haven't been feeling much movement. Growth scan showed all normal." She also shared a photo of her lunch, an NHS-made chicken sandwich, joking: "Even get lunch here. 10/10 service."
Discharge and Update
After being discharged, Christophers gave a full update from her car, saying: "I'm free! Everything is fine, I just went in for my growth scan and yeah, everything looks normal – 50th percentile or whatever that means. I don't know what that means, but apparently it's normal. They just wanted to monitor me because I had reduced movement. I still don't even know what normal movements for me are, but anyway, they did that and everything is fine." She then headed home to "watch the footy."
Background: MAFS and New Relationship
Christophers appeared on MAFS in 2021, marrying Josh Christie. The relationship ended amid explosive fights, including with other contestants. Since leaving the show, she reconnected with childhood crush Derren Pellow on Hinge. Their relationship went public in December, and just eight weeks later, they announced her pregnancy. Christophers told Heat Magazine it was "unexpected" but something she had wanted since childhood: "I've wanted to be a mum for as long as I can remember."
Shortly before announcing her pregnancy, she told the Mirror about manifesting a baby with Pellow, who is already a father of two. She said: "If I was panicking at 34 about not having kids, I'm definitely panicking now. I'm 40 this year!"
