Portia Jett, the estranged wife of Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba, has spoken about the emotional and physical toll of their separation as she prepares to move their two children to a new school in Kent. The 36-year-old former TV researcher said her 'stomach is all over the place' and that she feels 'really anxious' about leaving behind her support network of mum friends.
Portia revealed that their children, Roman, eight, and Genie, four, were 'really upset' after being told the family home in Tunbridge Wells had to be sold earlier this year. The couple split in 2023 and their marriage officially ended in October 2024 after nine years.
Last week, Ore Oduba admitted that his addiction to porn 'destroyed' his life and cost him thousands of pounds, leading to the breakdown of their marriage. Portia, who recently qualified as a personal trainer, is now rebuilding her life and has found happiness in a new relationship with British-German businessman Joshua Saxon Birch, which she confirmed on social media last year.
Despite the upheaval, Portia remains optimistic about the future. 'I know I’ll still see my friends and the kids will make new friends,' she said tearfully. 'But over the years, as I’ve dealt with stuff, they’ve been amazing for me and the kids. I get overwhelmed with change.'
Meanwhile, Ore Oduba has been keeping busy with theatre work and is set to embark on a UK tour with his former Strictly partner Joanne Clifton. He recently posted a photo wearing Pride-themed swimwear, inspired by the death of his sister Lola, who was gay, to live more authentically.
