Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has found himself in hot water after pleading guilty to trespassing in Yellowstone National Park. The Hollywood icon, known for his suave portrayal of 007, admitted to venturing into a restricted thermal area during his visit last year.
A Costly Stroll Through Nature
The 70-year-old actor's unauthorised walk through the park's delicate thermal zones has resulted in two federal citations. Court documents reveal Brosnan must pay $500 for venturing off designated paths in the Mammoth Terraces area, plus an additional $1,000 for hiking near the iconic Morning Glory Pool.
Celebrity Doesn't Excuse Rule-Breaking
Park officials have emphasised that all visitors must adhere to safety regulations, regardless of their fame. Yellowstone's fragile ecosystem requires strict protection, with thermal areas posing particular dangers to both humans and the environment.
"Thermal areas are extremely hazardous," a park spokesperson stated. "The thin crust can collapse into boiling water, and the minerals damage fragile formations."
Brosnan's Response
The GoldenEye star expressed remorse through his legal team, acknowledging his mistake. "Mr Brosnan deeply regrets his actions and has the utmost respect for our national parks," his representative commented.
