Fleabag to End After Second Series, Confirms Star Sian Clifford

The BBC comedy-drama Fleabag will conclude with its second series, according to actress Sian Clifford, who plays Claire in the show. Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Clifford confirmed that there will be no third series, stating that the story will be complete after the season 2 finale airs.

Creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge had previously indicated that she did not expect another series. In an earlier interview with the BBC, she said: 'I have thought about it and there isn’t going to be one.'

The final episode of Fleabag series 2 airs on Monday 8 April at 10.35pm on BBC One. The episode depicts the events of Godmother and Dad’s wedding day, as secrets are revealed and Fleabag seeks an ending she is happy with.

The show has received critical acclaim, with Waller-Bridge winning the BAFTA for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Programme in 2017. Fans will now have to accept the second series as the definitive conclusion to the story.
