Collins said The King's Trust has been “part of my life for more than 40 years”, adding: “Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting countless young people through the charity and seeing first-hand the determination, talent and potential they bring. Supporting their journeys and watching the trust grow over the decades has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.” He said it “means a great deal” to see his belongings supporting the charity, adding the archive includes instruments, handwritten lyrics and items connected with performances throughout his career.
The auction opens for online bidding on Thursday ahead of the live sale on November 19. Highlights from the collection will be on display at the Peninsula Beverly Hills in Los Angeles on November 13 from 9am until noon local time.
