Peter Crouch admitted he and Abbey Clancy "can bicker" as they had a playful exchange about long-distance relationships on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch.
Playful Exchange Over Fan Query
After Abbey read out a message from a fan asking how the couple approach being away from each other, Peter jumped in laughing and blurted out "f*** me", reacting to the suggestion Abbey had previously said such a scenario "does not work".
They went on to trade opinions, ultimately stressing that being separated in this type of setup just isn't something they'd like to do. Explaining on the podcast, Abbey quipped: "No, it doesn't (work). We're actually getting divorced. It's our last pod, guys. So, farewell."
Light-Hearted Banter Continues
Peter went on to say: "This is very apt because this... it sounds like you've wrote that." Abbey fired back: "I haven't wrote it. I haven't got as much interest to write that now. I don't care. So, I wouldn't write that now", prompting Peter to exclaim "f*****g hell".
He added: "So, as you can tell, it's not really been good for us." Abbey acknowledged that such arrangements don't "work" for her, as the couple continued their light-hearted banter.
Why Long-Distance Doesn't Work for Them
Peter pointed out: "I'll tell you why it doesn't work for us. It's because we love each other and we spend a lot of time together, and we have fun together. So, where we are apart - I resonate with this - I resonate with the fact that yeah, the little arguments and that; we can bicker. But with regards to long-distance relationships, I totally get it."
She accepted that long-distance relationships suit "some people" who prefer their own space, and that some are "self-sufficient". She felt that it isn't how her relationship works - and stressed she doesn't rely on "anyone".
Peter quipped: "You've just said you depend on me. Clearly, you've literally just said you literally need me to breathe", before erupting into laughter.
Family Update
The couple have been in the US recently with their four children - Sophia Ruby, Liberty Rose, Johnny and Jack - and a recent "special" family update prompted a wave of warm messages from followers. Their stateside trip also coincided with Peter's work commitments, with the former England striker appearing as a pundit and broadcaster at the World Cup final at the New York New Jersey Stadium. Abbey was in the stands with the kids, sharing a set of photos from inside the ground.
She wrote in the caption: "Well that was special. World Cup final [red love hearts] congratulations to Spain." Fans were quick to respond with their thoughts. One wrote: "Such a gorgeous family!" Another commented: "You're a good looking bunch." A third added: "Beautiful family".
