Model Katie Price has agreed to pay undisclosed libel damages to her ex-husband, singer Peter Andre, over claims that he was unfaithful to her. Mr Andre accepted a public apology from Ms Price at the High Court in London.
The defamation proceedings arose from interviews Ms Price gave to Heat magazine and on The Graham Norton Show in October 2009. The claims included questioning Mr Andre's genuine feelings for Ms Price's son Harvey, and alleging that Mr Andre had an affair with his manager, Claire Powell.
Mr Andre will pay the compensation into a trust fund for Harvey, and Ms Price will make a contribution to his legal costs, solicitor Mike Brookes told Mr Justice Tugendhat. Neither party was present at the hearing.
Mr Brookes stated: 'Mr Andre brought these proceedings because his relationship with his children and his reputation are important to him.' He added that both are 'pleased that they have reached a compromise' and wish to move on for the sake of their children.
Ms Price's solicitor, Keith Ashby, confirmed she regrets the comments and accepts Mr Andre has been a good father to Harvey. Ms Price also withdrew her claim that Mr Andre had an affair, accepting he did not lie about never cheating.
