Pete Wicks will not be joining the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour in 2025, citing prior work commitments that clash with the show's schedule. The 36-year-old reality star, who has avoided the dance-off throughout this series, confirmed his unavailability from the outset, though he is said to be 'gutted' to miss the opportunity.
According to a source close to the star, Wicks had filming and work obligations in the spring that made it impossible to dedicate time to the tour. 'Pete made it clear from the beginning he wouldn't be available for the shows in 2025 but now he feels regretful over not having a clear diary,' the source told MailOnline. The insider added that his popularity among Strictly viewers is evident and that he would have received a positive reaction from audiences.
The UK tour kicks off in Birmingham on January 17 and concludes at London's O2 Arena on February 9. It will feature other contestants including Tasha Ghouri, Sarah Hadland, JB Gill, Montell Douglas, Jamie Borthwick, Wynne Evans, and Shayne Ward. The tour will be hosted by Janette Manrara, with judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke.
Wicks is not the only absentee; comedian Chris McCausland has also confirmed he will not take part due to his own comedy tour commitments. McCausland had already postponed dates to participate in Strictly and could not reschedule again. 'It's a great shame, because he'd love to do the tour, but Chris is not available,' his representative said.
