The weekend just gone was crazy. It began on Friday night with a party celebrating Peter Moore, former CEO of LFC, who received an honorary doctorate from the University of Liverpool. He set up The Peter and Debbie Moore Scholarship to help students chase their dreams.
Epstein Theatre Event with Adolescence Stars
On Saturday, the Epstein Theatre hosted an audience with and conversation event featuring actor Jay Johnson, director Philip Barantini, and teenage star Owen Cooper, all from the Netflix drama Adolescence. The theatre was packed, and the audience hung on every word. Barantini came across as warm and passionate, talking humbly about meeting his idol Steven Spielberg. Cooper seemed grounded and unfazed by the attention, discussing his passion for acting and his supportive family.
Surprise Birthday and Jimmy Nail Show
Later, Pete attended a surprise birthday party for Andrea Barnes, wife of John Barnes, who recently opened a Self Pilates studio. Then he went to Manchester to see Jimmy Nail's new show Stories and Songs. Nail was warm and funny, denying ever being intimidating. The show included songs and stories about his career, including working with George Harrison, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon. It was a fascinating and entertaining evening.
