Pete Davidson has broken his silence on becoming a father, telling E! News at the New York premiere of 'The Home' that he is 'very lucky and very, very happy'. The 'Saturday Night Live' alum and his girlfriend, model Elsie Hewitt, are expecting their first child together.
The couple, who have been linked since March, made their red carpet debut in May at the 13th Annual Blossom Ball in New York City. Hewitt announced the pregnancy on Instagram with a carousel of photos showing her baby bump and a sonogram, including a sweet picture of Davidson holding her from behind with a hand on her stomach.
Davidson, 31, has previously spoken about his desire to have children, particularly after losing his firefighter father in the 9/11 attacks. In a 2020 interview, he said: 'I just want to have a kid, that's it. I think that would be awesome.' He added that having a child would 'keep me around, keep my head up' and that he wanted 'to be there for something or do something that I didn't have growing up'.
In 2022, he reiterated his dream on the 'Hart to Heart' show, saying: 'My favourite thing ever, which I'm yet to achieve, is I wanna have a kid. It's super corny, but it would be so fun to dress up a little dude.' Hewitt has described Davidson as 'so incredible' and praised his care for her during endometriosis flare-ups, saying he sets her up with a heating pad and they snuggle up to watch movies.
