Pete Davidson has admitted feeling guilty that his pregnant girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, cannot have a private pregnancy due to his celebrity status. The comedian, 31, said on The Breakfast Club that he feels bad for Hewitt because his fame brings unwanted attention to their personal life.
“I feel bad for my girl because I bring a lot of s***,” Davidson said on the iHeartRadio show. “Anything I do or she does now is gonna be a thing.” He noted that pregnancy is not meant to be a public experience, but his notoriety makes privacy nearly impossible.
Davidson described Hewitt as a “very private person” who is “doing all the work” of carrying their child. “It’s supposed to be a beautiful experience,” he said, adding that he feels “guilty and horrible” that he could not allow her to have what he called the “ideal pregnancy” most women enjoy.
Despite his guilt, Davidson said Hewitt has never expressed resentment. “She’s never made me feel this way or said anything,” he noted. The couple announced the pregnancy in November with an Instagram post showing a sonogram and photos from a doctor’s appointment, captioned with a humorous remark.
Hewitt, a model, is due in early winter, according to reports. Davidson and Hewitt went public with their relationship in March, and were reportedly planning to move in together by May. Davidson has previously been in high-profile relationships with celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande.
