Adam Peaty & Holly Ramsay Jet Off on Honeymoon Amid Family Wedding Fallout
Peaty and Ramsay honeymoon after controversial wedding

Newlyweds Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay have embarked on their honeymoon, just two days after their star-studded wedding ceremony at Bath Abbey. The couple, who tied the knot on Saturday, were spotted leaving for the airport from Gordon Ramsay's London residence on Monday afternoon, luggage in tow.

Family Strife Overshadows Celebrations

The wedding, attended by guests including Victoria and David Beckham and Dragons' Den star Sara Davies, was clouded by significant family discord. Adam Peaty made the controversial decision to exclude most of his family from the event, including his mother, Caroline. She has since spoken publicly of her devastation, telling the Daily Mail the situation felt like her heart had been "cut out" and lamenting a broken family Christmas.

The tension reportedly escalated as Peaty arrived at the church, when he received a stern text message from his aunt. The message expressed hope that he would "never suffer the depth of pain" he had caused his mother and stated he should remember on each anniversary "that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams."

Gordon Ramsay's 'Cruel' Father-of-the-Bride Speech

Further controversy emerged from the wedding reception, where celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, the bride's father, delivered a speech described by sources as "cruel." Reports indicate that Ramsay took a pointed swipe at Peaty's parents, telling the newlyweds that his own wife, Tana, could "be a good mum to them both."

A family source suggested this was a direct and hurtful dig at Caroline Peaty, making her sound like a "bad mum." Ramsay is also said to have complimented his daughter's beauty, telling Peaty he was a lucky man and to "look at Tana" to see what he had to look forward to, before reportedly quipping to Holly, "Shame you don't have the same."

A New Joint Surname for the Honeymoon

As they begin their married life, the couple have adopted a new double-barrelled surname. Both Adam and Holly have taken each other's names and will be known as Peaty-Ramsay. In doing so, the Olympic champion follows a path similar to Brooklyn Beckham, who added his wife Nicola Peltz's surname after their own wedding three years ago.

The newlyweds are now away on their honeymoon, seeking respite from the very public fallout surrounding their lavish wedding day.
