TV star Paul Hollywood has appealed for information after his brother Lee was allegedly kicked in the face and punched to the ground while walking his dog in Wirral.
The Great British Bake Off judge shared a post on Instagram on Sunday, detailing the attack that occurred on Friday evening. He urged anyone with information to contact the police.
Wirral Police confirmed the incident took place at around 7.10pm on Links View Playing Fields near Shackleton Road. The victim, in his 50s, was walking his dog when another dog began barking. The other dog's owner became irate, and after the dogs were separated, he reportedly punched the victim from behind and kicked him in the face and back before fleeing.
The victim suffered injuries to his back and face and was taken to hospital for treatment. Detective Inspector Phil Ryan described it as a 'nasty' and 'unprovoked assault' and appealed for witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage to come forward.
An investigation is ongoing.
