EastEnders star Patsy Palmer has claimed that a confrontation with a Hollywood agent effectively ended her career in the United States. The actress, best known for playing Bianca Jackson on the BBC soap, moved to Los Angeles in 2014.
Speaking on the Feel It In Your Soul podcast, Palmer recalled that soon after arriving, she was assigned a major agent who she found extremely rude. When she challenged him, he responded with the classic threat: “You’ll never work in this town again.”
The fallout extended to her UK agent, who Palmer says dropped her because their relationship with the US agent was more important. “I realised in this industry no one gives a s*** really about anyone at the end of the day,” she reflected.
Palmer has played Bianca on and off since 1993. Recently, the character was involved in dramatic storylines including being held hostage by Reiss Colwell and helping deliver Sonia’s baby during the Queen Vic explosion. Bianca has since left Walford for a new life in Bali with Sonia and the children.
