Patsy Kensit has been confirmed to be back filming on the set of Emmerdale, reprising her iconic role as Sadie King after two decades away. The actress, who first appeared as the glamorous villain in 2004, is set to make an explosive return that coincides with the death of her former husband Jimmy King.
Gabby Thomas star Rosie Bentham revealed that the cast have already completed photoshoots with Kensit, expressing her excitement for the comeback. “She’s just really, really excited to come back and everyone is going to be so welcoming to that,” Bentham told The Sun at the TRIC Awards.
Kensit herself said: “I am really excited to return to Emmerdale. I treasure the years I was here before. Sadie King is a character that I really loved playing. The cast and crew are absolutely brilliant and I am so grateful for the chance to return to the show, it’s absolutely amazing.”
Producer Laura Shaw added: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Patsy Kensit back to the cast and crucially to see the iconic Sadie King storm back into the village. Her return will be explosive and guaranteed to shock. Sadie’s seductive demeanour, combined with her utterly ruthless nature, are set to deliver a spectacular and highly dramatic touch of class to the Yorkshire Dales.”
During her original stint, Sadie became infamous for her feuds and schemes, including snapping photos of Charity Dingle kissing her cousin Cain to sabotage her wedding, and later joining forces with Cain to kidnap Tom King. After a staged shooting, she fled the village in 2006. Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX.
