Paris Hilton has opened up about her husband Carter Reum and reclaiming her narrative after 25 years of public scrutiny. At the January 20 premiere of her film Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir in Los Angeles, Hilton became emotional as she thanked her family, friends, and fans, describing the project as the 'third part of my trilogy'. She told the audience: 'This film is my story in the way I've never told it before. For the first time I am getting to share with the world the real me.'
Hilton was joined by her husband Carter Reum, whom she married in 2021, and their two children, son Phoenix and daughter London. Speaking exclusively to HELLO!, she said Reum was 'the first person that I trusted' after years of feeling unsafe. 'I let down the walls that I had around my heart for so long to let him in and now I finally feel safe. He lifts me up and supports me in ways that no man ever has,' she added.
The 42-year-old businesswoman and mother-of-two also reflected on her troubled past, including being sent to Provo Canyon School at age 16, where she alleged she suffered mental, physical, and sexual abuse. 'I buried a lot of pain because I didn't know how to talk about it,' she said, but noted that 'reflecting on everything I endured has been a huge part of my healing and allowed me to take back my voice.'
Now running her company 11:11 Media spanning beauty, fashion, podcasts, and TV, Hilton says raising her children is her most important job. 'After becoming a mum, everything changed. Time is the most precious thing in the world, and I will always put my children first,' she said, describing parenthood as 'the most fun and best era of my life'.
