Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson have been at the centre of romance rumours since their press tour for the upcoming film The Naked Gun in July 2025. However, recent claims that their relationship was a publicity stunt have been dismissed by sources close to the couple.
Reports from TMZ suggested that the romance was 'cooked up' by their respective public relations teams, with insiders claiming the pair did not see each other for a year between filming wrapping in June 2024 and the press tour. Fans expressed disappointment on social media.
Now, sources have told PEOPLE that the idea of a staged relationship is 'ridiculous'. One source stated: 'Everything between them has been genuine. Neither would ever take part in a publicity stunt. They have a great time. Neither of them needs the publicity.'
Another source added: 'Their relationship isn't just for show. They have a real connection. There's no incentive for either of them to stage something like this.'
Neither Anderson nor Neeson has commented on the reports. The pair star together in the reboot of The Naked Gun, which is set for release this summer.
