Paddy McGuinness, the 52-year-old comedian and television presenter, has unveiled a striking physical transformation after completing the rigorous 'Hard 75' fitness challenge. Sharing before and after images on social media, McGuinness admitted he was shocked by how much he had 'let myself go' during a period of binge eating.
The before picture showed McGuinness in grey joggers with his stomach visible, while the after shot depicted a noticeably more toned physique. In typical comedic fashion, he joked that his tan helped accentuate the results. 'I still can’t believe how much I’d let myself go,' he wrote. 'That before pic is the result of just under two months of binge eating — beer, cakes, and biscuits! The effect it had on my body, and more importantly, my mind, was staggering.'
The Hard 75 plan, created in 2019 by US author and podcaster Andy Frisella, involves two 45-minute workouts daily, drinking eight pints of water, abstaining from alcohol, following a healthy diet, and reading at least 10 minutes of non-fiction each day. Missing any of these goals requires restarting from day one. McGuinness did not disclose whether he had to restart.
Fellow celebrities praised his efforts, including Countryfile's Matt Baker, who called it 'brilliant,' and Scarlette Douglas, who said he looked 'bloody brilliant.' However, radio host Andy Goldstein jokingly claimed the transformation was AI-generated, writing: 'AI is getting out of hand now!' McGuinness plans to share a more detailed time-lapse of his journey next week.
