Disgraced rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs may be released from prison sooner than originally expected, as reports indicate his release date has been moved forward multiple times.
Combs, 56, is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted in October on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He avoided more serious charges such as racketeering and sex trafficking during the high-profile trial.
Release date brought forward
According to TMZ, the musician was initially scheduled for release in June 2028. However, several adjustments have moved the date first to April 2028, then to February 23, 2028, and now to January 24, 2028. The updated date appears on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, though the reasons for the changes remain unclear.
Solitary confinement after prison brawl
Combs recently spent time in solitary confinement at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey after being involved in a fight with another inmate. Prison guards intervened to separate the two men, leading to his isolation.
In a statement to the Daily Mail, FCI Fort Dix said: "For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions."
Drug abuse program participation
A spokesperson for Combs stated that he is "an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program" and is taking the situation seriously. Representatives for the rapper have been approached for comment regarding the new release date.
