Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76, surrounded by his family. His wife Sharon confirmed the news in an emotional statement, saying: 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.'
Osbourne announced he was living with Parkinson's disease in 2020, and decided to take a break from touring in 2023 after extensive spinal surgery. He returned to the stage at Villa Park in Birmingham with his Black Sabbath bandmates for what was his final ever performance at the Back To The Beginning concert.
His son Jack shared a tribute shortly before his death, describing his father as 'funny, unique and powerful'. Kiss frontman Gene Simmons became emotional speaking about Osbourne on BBC Breakfast, calling him 'an English gentleman... sweet as can be, and on stage, a mad man'. Alice Cooper dedicated his Cardiff show to Osbourne, calling him 'a rock n roll legend', while Lamb of God said 'the loss we feel today is immeasurable'.
