Former Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Little Mix star Perrie Edwards have tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in Portugal. The couple, who have been together since 2017 and share two children, were married in Faro on the Iberian peninsula, according to pictures obtained by the Daily Mail.
A Long-Awaited Union
The pair have been engaged since 2022 and finally celebrated their wedding in a gorgeous church ceremony. Edwards shared a glimpse of Oxlade-Chamberlain's proposal in a June 2022 post, showing off her engagement ring and captioning it: 'Last night the love of my life got down on one knee and I said… YES!'
Family Life
The couple regularly share updates from their happy lives on Instagram, but have yet to publicly announce their marriage on social media. Edwards' most recent post featured images from her performance at the Mighty Hoopla festival, while Oxlade-Chamberlain celebrated a double win with his current club, Celtic.
The wedding comes just five months after the birth of their second child, Alanis, in January. The couple also have a son named Axel. Edwards announced her pregnancy in September with a heartwarming video showing off her baby bump, captioned: 'Guess what hunnies…'
Never Lived Together
Despite building a life together, the couple revealed they have never lived together. Speaking on the Jonathan Ross Show in 2024, Edwards said: 'I can't lie, it is hard. When he was playing for Liverpool and based in Manchester, it was so easy to do the back and forth but Turkey is a little bit further and he doesn't get a lot of time off. I'm trying to launch a solo career whilst having a two year old so it is a lot to juggle but we make it work for the ones we love don't we? We've never lived together anyway - the whole eight years we've been in a relationship, we've never actually lived together.'
Songwriting Insights
Edwards has also given insights into her relationship through her songwriting. Speaking about a new song co-written with RAYE, she said: 'Full disclosure, me and my partner don't argue, we're very laid back and very chilled. But at the same time, I can be a little bit of a petty b**** and I can't help it. I don't know whether it's my star sign - cancer. I'm very stubborn, I'm very emotional but not in the best way. I will hold a grudge for anything he might say. I just can't help the way I am, I'm just like that but we just started writing a song about it and I just thought the lyrics were super relatable.'
