David Wilkinson's letter distinguishing Flatford mill's pond from its pool in Constable's The Hay Wain reminded O'Brien of the incident. He wrote: "My shattered belief system forbade me from listening to The Archers since. And now I can't look a Constable in the eye."
North/south divide and England's World Cup

Leila Roberts commented on Polly Toynbee's piece about Burnham's working-class assumption that dinner is a midday meal, saying at home they clarified by asking: "Dinner at dinnertime or dinner at teatime?"
