Oti Mabuse has broken her silence on her pregnancy after announcing she is expecting her second child. The former Strictly professional took to Instagram on Thursday, June 11, to share the exciting news with fans, revealing that she and her husband Marius Iepure are expanding their family. The couple already have a two-year-old daughter.
Shortly after the announcement, Oti appeared on ITV's Loose Women, where she is a regular panellist. She candidly discussed how she managed to keep her pregnancy a secret from her fellow presenters while battling morning sickness. Speaking to Kaye Adams, Denise Welsh, Judi Love, and Sunetra Sarker, Oti admitted that she had struggled to conceal her condition.
Joining the programme via video link from Italy, where she is currently filming, Kaye immediately said: "Now listen, I've got a bone to pick with you." Laughing, Oti replied: "I know... because I remember when I was there last week, you were like, 'So when are you going to do the second baby?' And I was like, 'It's coming, it's coming!'"
Oti revealed that she had experienced severe morning sickness while on the panel. "Sometimes I'd just be quiet on the panel just to make sure that the nausea goes away. I drank loads of peppermint tea. That was my thing. And ginger tea. Yeah. The first trimester was hard, but, like anything, you get over it sometime. So yeah, I survived it."
The star also shared that her husband had warned her that she might not be able to hide her bump from Kaye and Jane Moore. "Like, he's shifting a little bit to the left, to the right, it's so obvious," Oti added.
Oti, who is now four months pregnant, announced the news on Instagram with a series of photographs showing off her bump while her husband held a sonogram. "Plot twist," she wrote. "We thought we had our hands full already, but life had even bigger plans. Baby No 2 is joining the dance party, and our hearts (and house) are about to get a whole lot fuller."
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
