Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse has announced she is pregnant with her second child. The 35-year-old dancer, who already shares an 18-month-old daughter with husband Marius Iepure, shared the happy news on Instagram on Thursday morning.
Surprise Announcement
Oti, who left the BBC show in 2020 and has since built a successful television career on ITV with roles on Loose Women and I'm A Celebrity..., posted: "Plot twist. We thought we had our hands full already, but life had even bigger plans. Baby No. 2 is joining the dance party, and our hearts (and house) are about to get a whole lot fuller."
Celebrity Congratulations
Numerous celebrity friends rushed to offer their congratulations, including her sister Motsi Mabuse, who serves as a judge on Strictly. She commented: "We love you, congratulations, the bigger the better." Karen Hauer, who recently departed Strictly, posted: "Congratulations guys," while Gorka Marquez declared: "AMAZING NEWS GUYS." Love Island champion Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, who took part in Dancing on Ice when Oti was a judge, commented: "Congratulations Angel." Emmerdale's Lisa Riley said: "Fantastic news. CONGRATULATION how beautiful is this." Coronation Street star Alan Halsall wrote: "Huge congratulations to you and your beautiful family."
Previous Comments on Family
After welcoming her first child, Oti expressed her desire for another baby. In 2024, she told The Times: "I'd like as many as I can afford." She added: "What I have been through shocked me, but it made me even stronger. For the first time in my life I have a purpose, which is for my family to have a good life." On Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Oti revealed that her first child was born prematurely and they kept the birth private for nine weeks to enjoy family time.
