Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse has announced she is four months pregnant with her second child. The former professional dancer revealed the joyful news on Instagram on Thursday, June 11, telling fans that she and husband Marius Iepure are expanding their family. The couple already has a two-year-old daughter.
Oti later appeared on ITV's Loose Women, where she is a regular panelist, and shared how she managed to keep her pregnancy a secret from her fellow presenters while battling morning sickness.
Morning Sickness Struggles
Joining the programme via video link from Italy, where she is filming, Oti was greeted by Kaye Adams, who jokingly said, "Now listen, I've got a bone to pick with you." Laughing, Oti replied, "I know... because I remember when I was there last week, you were like, 'So when are you going to do the second baby?' And I was like, 'It's coming, it's coming!'"
She went on to explain that her husband had warned her she might not be able to hide the bump from the sharp-eyed panelists. "He said to me, 'Babe, I'm going to be honest with you. You just filmed the show with Kaye and Jane Moore. I don't think you can hide it from them.' Like, he's shifting a little bit to the left, to the right, it's so obvious."
Quiet on the Panel
Oti admitted she had experienced "loads" of morning sickness and struggled to conceal it while on the Loose Women panel. "Sometimes I'd just be quiet on the panel just to make sure that the nausea goes away," she said. "I drank loads of peppermint tea. That was my thing. And ginger tea. First trimester was hard, but like anything, you get over it sometime. So yeah, I survived it."
Kaye Adams praised her for keeping the secret, calling it "wonderful news."
Instagram Announcement
Oti announced her pregnancy on Instagram with a series of photos showing her baby bump while her husband held a sonogram image. "Plot twist," she wrote. "We thought we had our hands full already, but life had even bigger plans. Baby No 2 is joining the dance party, and our hearts (and house) are about to get a whole lot fuller."
Loose Women airs at 12.30pm on ITV on weekdays.
