Ozzy Osbourne Laid to Rest in Private Family Funeral

Ozzy Osbourne has been laid to rest in a private funeral at a church in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. The Black Sabbath legend died last week at the age of 76, and will be buried at the grounds of the family home.

The service was attended by his wife Sharon and their children, alongside Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler. Metallica’s James Hetfield and Sir Elton John were also present, while singer Yungblud gave a reading during the ceremony.

The day before, a public procession took place in Ozzy’s beloved hometown of Birmingham. Thousands of fans lined Broad Street chanting his name as his coffin was taken on a final tour. Sharon, accompanied by their children, laid flowers among a sea of tributes and broke down in tears.

The family had wanted to give fans one last chance to pay respects. The procession passed Black Sabbath Bridge and Ozzy’s childhood home, with floral tributes placed outside. Ozzy had been desperate to return to England after his Parkinson’s diagnosis and made it home before his death, just over two weeks after his farewell show at Villa Park.
