The Liverpool ECHO is offering a special tribute edition front page honoring Kevin Keegan, who died at the age of 75. The front page features an iconic image from his time at Anfield.
Keegan's Legacy
Keegan retired with two Ballons d'Or and six major trophies during his time at Liverpool, including a European Cup and three First Division titles before his move to Hamburg in 1977. After retiring, he managed Newcastle United, Fulham, England, and Manchester City, returning to Newcastle in 2008.
Tributes from Former Players
Kenny Dalglish, who took Liverpool's No.7 shirt after Keegan's departure, said: "Kevin was one of the very best players of his generation and wore Liverpool’s famous number 7 shirt with great distinction. His achievements on the pitch were exceptional, but he was also a wonderful person and a genuine gentleman."
Jamie Carragher added: "One of the greatest players this country has ever produced, trophies & goals galore, double Ballon d'Or winner shows he was an absolute giant of the English game. One of the most important men in making LFC what it is today."
