Global media titan Oprah Winfrey has set social media alight with her enthusiastic endorsement of a beloved Sydney breakfast institution, following a star-studded tip.
A Culinary Pilgrimage in Sydney
The talk show legend, currently in Australia for her Oprah In Conversation tour, made a special trip to the famed Bills restaurant on Tuesday. Taking to Instagram, she shared her experience with the venue's iconic ricotta hotcakes, a dish passionately recommended to her by Australian A-lister Hugh Jackman.
In a video clip, Oprah presented the fluffy pancakes to her followers, stating, "These are the hotcakes much acclaimed and talked about by the one and only Hugh Jackman." Her immediate reaction upon tasting them was a satisfied nod and the conclusive verdict: "Hugh told the truth."
Praise for Jackman and a Four-Mile Trek
After finishing the meal, Winfrey continued her review outside the restaurant, directly addressing the Wolverine star. "Hugh you are absolutely unbelievably right. If you come here to Sydney you've gotta stop in," she declared, adding that her party of twelve "ate like we'd never eaten before."
The 71-year-old revealed the extent of her dedication in the post's caption, noting she had walked nearly four miles (6.5 kilometres) specifically to try the celebrated dish. "I walked four miles for these ricotta hotcakes from @billsaustralia – and they were worth every step! Thank you @thehughjackman for the suggestion," she wrote.
Oprah's Australian Tour Style and Excitement
Oprah has been soaking up the Sydney atmosphere ahead of her speaking engagements. On Monday, she was spotted in Bondi after a leisurely breakfast and stroll. Stepping out on Tuesday, she showcased a trim figure in a casual yet chic ensemble: a green T-shirt, patterned blue leggings, a woven sun hat, and a neck bandana.
She accessorised with hoop earrings, sunglasses, a smartwatch, and trainers, flashing a beaming smile to onlookers. Her arrival in Sydney earlier in the week via private jet was similarly stylish, opting for a comfortable grey knit set.
This visit marks her first trip to Australia since 2010. In a statement, Oprah expressed her thrill at returning: "I'm beyond excited to return after ten years. The energy, warmth, and spirit I felt from audiences last time stayed with me." Her tour of live conversations runs throughout December.
