Oliver Hudson has opened up about the possibility of reconnecting with his biological father, Bill Hudson, during a recent episode of the Sibling Revelry podcast with his sister Kate Hudson. The 44-year-old actor discussed the strained relationship with his father, who has been largely absent from his life.
Kate Hudson, 41, also shared her thoughts on the matter, revealing that she has been considering reaching out to Bill and her half-siblings. 'I’ve been thinking about our sisters that we don’t spend any time with and our brother - brothers. We’ve got four siblings we don’t spend any time with,' she said. 'It would be nice to connect a little bit, especially with my sisters.'
The siblings credited their stepfather, Kurt Russell, for stepping in as a dependable father figure. Kate expressed gratitude for Russell, saying he 'played a huge, huge part in sharing what it is to have a dependable father figure in our life. But it doesn't take away from the fact that we didn't know our dad.'
Kate also reflected on the estrangement, noting that it is 'a 41-year-old issue' and that she still loves her father. 'The love has never ever gone anywhere. It's always been there, no matter what those complications have been,' she said, adding that healing is personal and that she hopes others in similar situations know they are not alone.
