A man has died after falling from the upper tier at Wembley Stadium during an Oasis concert on Saturday, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed. The man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts from medics and the London Ambulance Service.
Police were called at 10.19pm following reports of an injured person. The man was found with injuries consistent with a fall, and police believe many fans may have witnessed the incident or captured it on their phones. They have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Oasis said they were “shocked and saddened” by the tragedy, extending condolences to the man’s family. During their Sunday night show at the same venue, Liam Gallagher dedicated the song Live Forever to “all the people who can’t be here tonight”, a reference to the deceased fan.
A fan who was in a lower tier described seeing paramedics attempting to revive the man, initially mistaking the fall for a falling coat. Wembley Stadium expressed their sorrow, stating that specially trained police officers are supporting the family.
The Oasis reunion tour, marking the first time Liam and Noel Gallagher have performed together in 16 years, includes seven shows at Wembley and five in Manchester, with further dates planned across the Americas, Asia, and Australia.
