John Smallbones, a 49-year-old tradesman from Andover, Hampshire, has amassed more than £12,000 worth of Oasis memorabilia and sports several tattoos dedicated to the band. His collection includes a duvet cover featuring the faces of Noel and Liam Gallagher, cabinets full of tambourines, and framed pictures throughout his home. He also has a silhouette of Liam Gallagher's face tattooed on his back, along with other Oasis-themed ink.
Mr Smallbones described the announcement of an Oasis reunion tour in 2025 as 'the best thing that's happened for a long time'. He said he always believed a reunion would happen, predicting it for 2025 as it marks the 30th anniversary of the band's debut album. He is determined to secure tickets, even if it means paying double or triple the face value on resale sites.
The superfan, whose business is named Wall of Glass after Liam Gallagher's first solo single, admitted Liam is his favourite band member. He sees him perform at least twice a year but said seeing the Gallagher brothers perform together again would be 'the ultimate'. He plans to attend shows at Wembley Stadium and Heaton Park, donning a Parka jacket, brown wig and hat.
Oasis has announced a pre-sale ballot for tickets to their 2025 reunion gigs, aimed at giving fans a fair opportunity. The ballot closes on 28 August 2024, with general sale on 31 August. Mr Smallbones expressed his excitement, saying next year 'can't come quick enough'.
