Twelve months ago today, the rock 'n' roll reunion many thought they'd never see finally happened. On July 4, 2025, Noel and Liam Gallagher clasped hands as they swaggered onstage in Cardiff to deafening cheers, kicking off the second summer of Oasis. It was the start of six glorious weeks of brotherly love, bucket hats, and mass sing-alongs.
The Cardiff Opening Night
The tour opened at Cardiff's Principality Stadium with a sold-out crowd of 74,500. Fans held up a scarf reading 'The great wait is over' before the gig. Images of newspaper headlines and old pictures of the band played on the big screen as Liam took to the stage in his trademark style, followed by Noel.
Manchester's Heaton Park Homecoming
After Cardiff, the tour moved to Manchester for five biblical homecoming shows at Heaton Park. A whopping 370,000 fans attended the five-night run, with the city partying like it was 1995 all over again. Town was packed with fans from across the world, and the Definitely Maybe bar in Afflecks became a popular pilgrimage. Even the Aldi in Prestwich got in on the act, and local bars and restaurants were packed.
Support Acts and Special Moments
Cast opened the show on the UK leg of the tour, with Richard Ashcroft as the other support act. Pep Guardiola, wearing an Oasis tee shirt, was among the crowd on the opening night at Heaton Park. One of the highlights was Gallagher Hill—a field just outside the fenced-off area where thousands of ticketless fans gathered every night. Despite the council's efforts to stop fans, Gallagher Hill only gained in popularity as the gigs wore on.
Weather and Atmosphere
The sun shined for pretty much all five Manchester gigs. Despite the sun, Liam still wore his trademark cagoule. Fireworks exploded in the sky as Oasis closed the show with Champagne Supernova. The tour also saw the band return to Manchester for five shows, with fans enjoying drinks, walking through barriers, and gathering at Victoria station to make their way to Heaton Park.
A New Generation of Fans
During their 16-year split, Oasis picked up a new generation of fans, and the reunion tour brought together fans of all ages. The memories of the 2025 tour live on through these 40 pictures, capturing the essence of one of the biggest tours in rock 'n' roll history.
