One quatrain reads: "Seven months great war, people dead through evil/ Rouen, Evreux the King will not fail." This is often linked to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Another verse, "Within two cities, there will be scourges the like of which was never seen," is believed to reference the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Swarm of Bees and Celebrity Lightning Strike
A bizarre forecast mentions "the great swarm of bees will arise by the night ambush," possibly corresponding to the year 26. The 26th verse of Century I states: "the great man will be struck down in the day by a thunderbolt," suggesting a famous figure will be killed by lightning in daylight.
Bloodshed in Switzerland
Another prophecy says: "Because of the favour that the city will show... the Ticino will overflow with blood..." This refers to the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino in Switzerland, potentially indicating a disaster or conflict.
Sceptics note that Nostradamus wrote in Middle French with vague Latin phrases, and centuries of copying errors and interpretations make his meanings uncertain.
