Kim Kardashian Defends Daughter North West's Rome Outfit Amid Criticism

Kim Kardashian has faced backlash after her 12-year-old daughter North West was seen wearing a corseted top, skirt, and chunky boots during a meal out in Rome on Saturday. Critics labelled the outfit 'inappropriate' for the pre-teen, but fans have rallied to defend the star and her eldest child.

Social media users argued that the criticism was misplaced. One user, @ALRDY0VER, wrote: 'It’s literally not up to Kim to shield her children from weirdos. It’s up to the general public to not be weird.' Another, @debt2Urwallet, added: 'Maybe YOU GUYS are the problem.' Supporters also praised North's personal style, with @AbigailJoyFloat saying: 'Love that Northie has her own style.'

This is not the first time a celebrity child has faced undue scrutiny. Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, also received criticism for her outfits while joining her mother on tour. Kim and Kanye West were married from 2014 to 2022 and share four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

The outing comes amid the release of a teaser for a documentary titled 'In Whose Name?', which follows Kanye West's increasingly erratic behaviour. The film includes footage of Kanye saying he stopped taking medication for bipolar disorder, and an emotional Kim tearfully saying: 'Your personality was not like this a few years ago.' Kim previously addressed Kanye's condition in a 2020 social media post, describing him as a 'brilliant but complicated person.'
