Noel Gallagher has cast a shadow over the upcoming Oasis reunion with a bleak prediction about his own life expectancy. The 57-year-old musician, known for hits like 'Wonderwall', confessed on a podcast that he feels he will be 'lucky' to reach the age of 60, attributing his pessimism partly to his alcohol consumption.
Speaking to Matt Morgan, Gallagher compared himself to Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, who continues to perform at 81. 'Just because Jagger is mincing around at 103 doesn't mean everyone can,' he remarked, adding, 'The way I feel f*****g now, I mean I'll be f*****g lucky if I make it to 60.'
The singer has previously expressed a desire to die at 75, telling BBC Radio 1 in 2022 that he would rather not live beyond that age due to the state of the world. Now, he acknowledges needing lifestyle changes, specifically 'getting off the booze', after gaining weight.
Gallagher's comments come despite confirmed plans for an Oasis reunion next year, ending a 15-year rift with brother Liam. The reunion was hinted at after Noel was booed at the Y Not Festival for ruling it out in 2025 or 2026, but a Mirror report later confirmed the band will reunite.
