Natasha Archer, Princess Kate's trusted right-hand woman for 15 years, has stepped down from her role at Kensington Palace, according to reports. Archer, 37, joined the royal household in 2010 as a personal assistant to the Prince and Princess of Wales, later becoming Kate's unofficial stylist and senior private executive assistant.
Known for her keen eye for British fashion, Archer played a pivotal role in curating Kate's wardrobe for major engagements and tours, including a 19-day trip to Australia and New Zealand where the princess wore 24 outfits. She helped establish Kate as a prominent wearer of designers such as Alexander McQueen and Kenny Packham, sparking the so-called 'Kate Middleton Effect' that saw items sell out quickly after being worn.
Archer also persuaded Prince William to wear a traditional sherwani for a 2019 reception in Pakistan, a first for a royal. She worked with Kate to upcycle dresses for environmental reasons, leading to Kate renting a dress for the 2022 Earthshot Prize Awards in Boston.
Beyond fashion, Archer was a constant presence by Kate's side during key moments, including a five-hour hike in Bhutan in 2016 and the birth of Prince George in 2013, where she handed over an outfit and baby seat. Archer married Getty royal photographer Chris Jackson in 2017 and is now a mother of two.
Archer's departure comes as Kate gradually returns to public life after being diagnosed with cancer last year. William and Kate remain focused on their royal duties as Archer moves on to her next chapter.
