BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst has taken a break from the famous red sofa to enjoy some sunshine, sharing holiday photos on Instagram. The 45-year-old stunned in a red swimsuit as she made her way to a small waterfall, did a countdown, and plunged into the waters below. Surrounded by trees and craggy cliffs, she enjoyed a peaceful swim back to the shoreline.
Holiday snaps and fan reactions
On Monday (July 20), the former business and consumer presenter posted to Instagram, giving followers a glimpse of her getaway. This comes weeks after she shared footage of her three children—Digby, Michael, and Nancy—on the tarmac at Gibraltar Airport, where she struck a comical striding pose.
Fans reacted with comments such as: "That's why you're not on the news," and "That's amazing, enjoy your trip." Another wrote: "So, that's where you are. No wonder lunchtime news is bad!" while a fourth said: "I think you are an amazing Mum."
Health update before break
Prior to departing, Nina provided a health update after viewers noticed her left eye appeared swollen while co-hosting with Sally Nugent. She reassured viewers she felt no "pain or discomfort," but was upset after reporting on the tragic death of toddler Preston Davey.
She shared: "It's been a difficult week at work. The stories affecting children have weighed heavily on all of us in the office." She added: "I'm having a gentle day with my little one, and we will go and say a prayer later for the ones who didn't get the start in life that every single child deserves."
Nina concluded: "Weeks like this, I am proud of the teams at the BBC for listening to the unlistenable in court, allowing families' broken hearts to be seen, and their voices to be heard. Our journalists work hard to get it right, and inevitably, sometimes it comes home. Children who suffer should never be forgotten."
